Acting Camp 101

June 27th-July 1st

Why not be a part of the fun this summer in our acting 101 camp!!! Geared just for kids the basics of theatre is covered in this camp; like stage directions, conquering stage fright, theatre terms and team work using our imagination and so more. We will also work on memorization skills, dictation. This camp lets each student be their creative selves! Through theatre and improv games we learn how to become a character on stage. We also rehearse a dance number and learn imnportant auditioning skills. We will show everything we covered in camp in our show "The Wizard of Oz" on Friday!!! Can't have this much fun anywhere else!

Tween Camp
July 11th-15th

Calling all almost- teens.... Want a place where you don't have to be with the little kids and the big kids aren't around to pick on you..... Well here you go just for you The Almighty TWEEN!!! Come and have a great time in this acting camp with all peeps your age. In one week we cast, direct and perform a One Act play!!! In only about 32 hours!!!! This is a fun fast paced Acting camp that even the teens wish they could be at! BUT this time they are not invited!!!!

DVC Jr. Camp
July 18th-22nd

For this week be a part of

THE ONLY KIDS SKETCH SHOW IN SAN ANOTNIO

Do you have a 8-15 year old who thinks they are hilarious? Like a mini version of a SNL character? This is the place for them. We will be working on sketches and improv in the DVC Jr. Camp. We can bring out the funny in anyone and are excited to have guest teachers from the original DVC as well as Ms Jessie Rose. This camp is created by the students. We start by writing our own sketches then casting each scene and directing them. Giving each student a chance to act and direct. Then On Friday we perform for all to see the Brilliance which is The DVC Jr.

Teen Camp
July 25th-29th
This is an intensive course. We delve into different styles of acting and types of theatre. We perform a showcase of our work or a play depending on the energy of the class. Focusing heavy on scene work and character study. We also cover sensory recall and substitution and go in-depth on emotions and what type of actor you are. A one minute monologue is required the first day, performance ready.

13 and over only unless otherwise noted by instructor.

Triple Threat Camp

August 1st-5th

Not only will we learn the basics of theatre, we will also sing and dance!

It is important to be a triple threat; so that is what we will focus on! Simple dance steps, singing and acting all in one. Together we will create a show that will always be remembered. The staff at The Rose will turn your child in to the next little star! We strive to instill self confidence and let each child have their chance to shine. Whether we are overcoming nerves or want a bigger stage to perform on, other than the one in your room.... This camp is the place for you!!

Musical Theatre Camp
August 8th-12th

Does your child sing constantly? Do they enjoy and sing along with the show 'Glee'? If you answer "yes” to this question then sign them up for Musical Theatre Camp where all we do is sing and dance!!! This is a great opportunity for those of you who just sing in the shower or great practice for those of you who are a little braver. And we will have a showcase performance on Friday so you can show all your friends and family how much of a rock star you really are!
